altTLC is notorious for hosting offbeat shows: Kate Plus 8, Cake Boss and Little People, Big World are just some of the many that have gained attention in recent years. However, the roller coaster ride isn't stopping any time soon, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Recently, the network announced that it plans to debut a new show called All-American Muslim. TLC appears to be looking to networks, such as MTV, for inspiration. Programs that explore cultural differences have been the latest to grow in popularity, and this show is expected to be no different.

All-American Muslim will feature the lives of American-Muslim families in Dearborn, Michigan. The goal is to shed light on the adversity that these individuals face living here in the U.S.

"The families featured in the series share the same religion, but lead very distinct lives that often times challenge the Muslim stereotype. Throughout the series, viewers will see these families through some of life’s biggest events and challenges - from getting married and the birth of a first baby, to juggling busy careers while raising a family, to managing sibling dynamics and finding 'Mr. or Ms. Right,'" the television description reads.

Amy Winter, the general manager of TLC, adds that the objective is to provide insight into Muslim culture with compassion.
