Don't Let the Wedding Ruin It

Keep Your Cool during Your Summer Wedding

Summer is here, the most popular season for weddings. Being that many of you will be saying 'I do', or at least know someone else who is, it is important to keep a few things in mind.

At one point or another, I'm sure you've heard horror stories about the stress of planning a wedding, or perhaps about the dreaded post honeymoon stage of a relationship. Don't worry, this doesn't have to be true for you, as long as you remember that a relationship is a place one goes to give, and not to fight and stress. Very much like a wedding; it's a time to celebrate, not to bicker over table settings and place cards.

So when you find yourself preparing for the big day, remember to keep the wedding planning in perspective. Don't become overly concerned with how you can make your wedding day "perfect." Like most of us have learned, or have yet to learn in future, there is no such thing as perfection. Not when it comes to a man, not when it comes to ourselves, and certainly not when it comes to a wedding. Instead, remember to enjoy the process.

Think of ways you can give your partner more attention, and really focus on making them feel special. Eliminate as much stress as you can from the equation. And if the wedding isn't "perfect," so what? Isn't it perfect enough that you've found each other and agreed to spend the rest of your lives together?

I think so. And so should you.
