Tips For Picking Your Dress

Things To Think About Before Picking "The One"

altEvery bride wants to have the wedding they always imagined. Every bride wants to look perfect on their wedding day. Therefore, having the right dress is most important (second maybe to the groom, just maybe...).

There are several things to consider when buying your dress, if you don't want a nightmare gown like the one in this photo.

First off, you need to consider the budget. Wedding dresses can get very expensive. You need to know your limit, so that you do not fall in love with a dress you cannot afford.

Before you get hung up on a certain style, consider when your wedding will be. The time of year and venue should be reflected in your choice of dress. For example, if you are having a summer wedding you will want to look for a dress with lighter fabric.

With both the budget and season in mind you can begin to decide on the style. When choosing your silhouette, you need to consider what look will suit your frame.

The right silhouette will flatter you and make you feel beautiful. After you have settled on the ideal silhouette for you, deciding on necklines, colour (white, off-white, cream or even red), sleeves, and detailing (lace, embroidery and sashes) will help personalize the style to you.

An important detail brides often forget to consider is comfort. This dress will be on you all day. You will need to sit in it, walk in it, and even dance in it, so make sure you can survive the day and evening in it.

Finally, don’t rush to make the decision. Get a second or third opinion to help you decide what dress flatters you; however don’t let someone else make the decision for you. This is your day and your dress so you need to be happy with the dress you choose. Take time before buying to think about it and make sure this is the perfect dress for you!
