A DJ or a band - which is right for your wedding?

altWhen it comes to your nuptials, everything's important, from your dress to your table linens. But if there's one thing your guests care about, it's what the entertainment will be like - which is why it's so crucial for every bride-to-be to decide just what kind of music she wants on her big day.
One of the most entertaining parts of a wedding is the dance floor, where everyone from your Great Aunt May to your grandfather can get down to their favorite tunes. But while the musical stylings of your in-laws might not match those of your bridesmaids, you can find a compromise with the right musicians.

For a young, hip wedding, a DJ can spin all of today's favorites - with a few oldies thrown in for good measure. The DJ also often acts as the emcee for the evening, helping guide the festivities and keep everything on track. If you want to boogie to today's Top 40, a DJ's your best bet. However, there's a certain allure to live music that no one can deny. A band puts its own unique spin on the songs you love - and can even change names and add words to personalize your favorite jams for your big day. Bands can take requests and even let guests get up and belt one out if the timing is right.

No matter which type of music you choose, remember that your guests will have fun either way. So just follow your heart - er, we mean ears.
