Throw Your Bride-To-Be BFF The Fete That She Deserves

Need to plan a bachelorette party but not sure how? Use these guidelines for guaranteed success!

You just found out that you are the hostess for a bachelorette party. Your blood pressure rises, your nerves begin to buzz, you get tongue tied. How are you supposed to tell the bride-to-be that you are not up to the challenge?

Take a breath and calm down. WOMAN.ca has got you covered.

1. KNOW YOUR BRIDE
If your friend is more likely to spend a Saturday at home with a rented DVD than she is at a crowded nightclub - odds are she might not want to go to a nightclub for the big night either. If your friend is a bit more low key, opt for a group dinner followed by live music, or go wine tasting! Not every Bachelorette party needs to feel like a scene out of The Hangover. If she's a more lively lady, go dancing, or to a karaoke bar. Try to be original and take her somewhere she wouldn't usually go.

2. KNOW HER FRIENDS

Write down who you think the bachelorette would like to have attend her party. Of course, all of the bridesmaids will be included, and if you are not familiar with their names or addresses, get a list from the bride's mother or other close friends. Use these guests as resource to obtain the names of others. You will want to invite fun friends that the bride will be inviting to the wedding. If the bride is having a small wedding, others still may be invited.

3. KNOW YOUR BUDGET
As the party planner, it's your job to buy all of the goodies. You will want to have silly things for her to dress up in, party hats, noise makers, and even a few naughty toys too! Make sure that you don't go overboard as the truth about party favours is that once the party is over, they just get thrown away. Be crafty! Make your bride a fun hat using things from the dollar store, and bake cookies and treats for lootbags! Disposable cameras are another inexpensive party favour that everyone can enjoy. Instead of sending paper invites, save a few trees and a few bucks by opting for e-vites. You don't have to break the bank to throw a great party.

4. KNOW YOUR SCHEDULE
Although the party is still weeks away, don't fall behind in your planning. The best hosts are the ones who are prepared in advance. By making sure that everything is moving along nicely, and keeping a schedule, you can avoid any last minute hiccups and freak-outs.

5. KNOW YOU CAN
Be confident in your party planning abilities, and don't let the pressure trip you up. At the end of the day, the objective is just to go out and have fun with your girlfriends so don't let the details make you sweat.
